
The Fortune of the United States recently announced the ranking of the 2025 500 major global enterprises. A total of six companies in Taiwan were on the list, with Duck Hai ranked 28th, and Taiwan Electricity ranked 126th, with 60th progress.
This year, Fortune Global 500 companies planned to create US$417 million in revenue last year, a growth of 1.8% in 2023, and more than one-third of the global domestic production gross domestic product (GDP); the total number of people employed is up to 70.1 million.
Walmart, the giant in the US retail industry, has been ranked first in the 12-year joint venture, and has ranked first since 1995.
The ranking of the top ten companies this year has not changed much compared with last year, but the ranking of technology companies in the subsequent rankings has increased significantly. For example, Meta Platforms, a US social media giant with Facebook and Instagram, rose 25 places, ranking 41st.
NVIDIA (Nvidia), the giant in the artificial intelligence (AI) chip industry, rose 156 to 66th. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Biadi also rose 52 places to 91st.
The six Taiwanese companies on the list this year are Dunghai (28th), Taiwan Power (126th), Guangda (348th), Hesu (461st), Taiwan Petroleum Corporation (494th) and Chengcai (496th). Guangda rose 96 places compared with last year.
