Taiwan Electric held its second season of the Legal Conference today. Looking forward to the third season, Chairman Wei Zhejia expects to be promoted by strong demand for advanced processes. In addition, the number of new openings for 2nm processes in the first two years will be higher than the sum of 3/5nm in the first two years.
When discussing advanced process progress, Wei Zhejia said that N2 and A16 technologies are currently leading the industry in meeting their high-efficiency computing, and almost all innovators are cooperating with NTEC. N2 will be produced in the second half of the year according to the plan, Taiwan will also strengthen its strategy and launch the N2 series extension "N2P" to further improve performance and power consumption. It is expected to produce in the second half of 2026.
As for the A16, the feature is that it combines super-powered (SPR) technology and will be mass-produced in the second half of 2026, suitable for products with complex signal paths and dense power transmission networks.
Finally, the A14 will adopt the second generation nanosheet transistor structure to provide better performance and power consumption to meet the growing demand for high-performance computing. Wei Zhejia said that the current A14 development progress is good, and the performance and yield improvement of zero components have reached or been ahead of schedule, and is expected to be mass-produced in 2028.
Wei Zhejia pointed out that the A14 strengthening strategy will continue, including the launch of a power supply version equipped with a super-powered computer in 2029. He also believes that A14 and derivative products will expand the company's technological leadership and enable Telco to seize future growth opportunities.
As for the recent advanced packaging capabilities, Wei Zhejia emphasized that the demand for AI has been increasing continuously, and the demand for CoWoS is also quite strong. He reiterated that the company will continue to narrow the gap, and the company will continue to observe.
