
Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) statistics show that global semiconductor sales amounted to US$59 billion in May, an increase of 3.5% in April and an annual increase of 19.8%.
SIA said that demand in the Americas, Asia Pacific and other regions is strong, and continues to promote the growth of the global semiconductor market. The global semiconductor sales volume in May remained strong, slightly higher than the April level.
SIA pointed out that semiconductor sales in Asia Pacific and other regions increased by 6% in May, the region with the largest monthly growth, followed by China, with a monthly increase of 5.4%, Europe increased by 4% per month, the Americas increased by 0.5% per month, and Japan increased by 0.2% per month.
The Americans' semi-conductor sales increased by 45.2% year-on-year in May, the region with the largest annual growth rate, followed by Asia Pacific and other regions, with an annual increase of 30.5%, China increased by 20.5%, Japan increased by 4.5% year-on-year, and Europe increased by 4.1% year-on-year.
World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Group (WSTS) previously estimated that global semiconductor investment could reach US$700.9 billion this year, which will grow by 11.2%. Logic and memory are the main driving forces, and the two products will be over US$400 billion in total.
