Although Huang Renfeng, executive chief of the American artificial intelligence (AI) chip industry, is not the first time he has visited Beijing, his recent visit is also the third time this year. Fans can freely communicate with him and strengthen his reputation as a star in China.
According to Reuters, Huang Renfeng walked around Beijing, was widely visited, took selfies with excited fans, and even signed on the Pink who came from fans, which was also his signature dress. It is not common for executives, one of the world's largest companies like Huang Renfeng, to be so active in China this time.
Huang Renyue, the world's largest company with market value, arrived in Beijing last week to attend the China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo, and announced that NVIDIA will once again sell H20 chips in China. In April, the US government banned the sale of this chip by China on the grounds of national security doubts. A few days before his visit, Huang Renqian met with US President Donald Trump.
The United States and China launched trade wars to compete for the global dominance of AI and other cutting-edge technology fields, which greatly affected the relevant supply chain. NVIDIA, which is a target of archery, had a Chinese business worth US$17 billion, which was once hindered. However, Huang Rensha seems to be optimistic about traveling between Beijing and Huafu. The trip met with several Chinese officials, including He Lifeng, deputy general manager of the Chinese Academy of Commerce, who is in charge of trade affairs, and Wang Wenfeng, Minister of Commerce of China.
Huang Renfeng also described the AI models of Chinese technology companies Deepseek, Alibaba and Teng as "world-class". After the launch of Deepseek's model in January this year, demand for H20 chips has increased significantly.
Despite this, analysts believe that NVIDIA will still be affected by the ups and downs of U.S.-China ties. Su Lianyue, chief analyst of the artificial intelligence market of Omdia, a science and technology research and development agency, pointed out that the purpose of Huang Rensha's trip is to show that NVIDIA will not give up on the Chinese market, but in the face of the US government's possible grievances on the deepening of NVIDIA's relationship with China, NVIDIA still has to seek a balance from this.
Tilly Zhang, a technology analyst at Gavekal Dragonomics, Beijing Economic Consulting Company, said: "NVIDIA still needs to see the trend clearly and work smoothly at the right time to maximize profits. Fortunately, according to me, NVIDIA has a very good executive who is good at diplomacy."
