Taiwan Sports Medical Association recently held an academic forum. Wu Yicheng, the attending physician of the Department of Sports Medicine at the New International Hospital, compiled the latest suggestions for international authority and top journals, and studied precautions for professional candidates and general sports enthusiasts before, during and after exercise.
Wu Yicheng pointed out that the Olympic Committee divides the infection risks of different sports projects into three levels, and the measures recommended to adopt different measures. The first-class with the highest risk is mainly sports with close contact and lack of protection measures, including football, boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo, wrestling, basketball, football, etc. The Olympic Committee recommends that you should be separated for 14 days before the game without any symptoms, or at least two sets of tests before the game. The second level with the second highest risk is some close contact but can take protective measures or avoidance measures, such as baseball, volleyball, swimming relay, badminton, bicycle, iron man, striking, and physical exercise. The Olympic Committee recommends that the competition should be adjusted and preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection, such as wearing masks. If you will contact other people in the lounge, you should also take preventive measures such as maintaining social distance and wearing masks. The third level with lower risk is most independent sports such as golf, swimming, personal boating, aphrodisiac, netball, skateboarding, and field. The Olympic Committee suggested that the competition could be opened with the permission of the local government and health units. However, taking the common marathon in Taiwan as an example, it will be more irritating near the starting point, and you may still need to wear a mask and wait until the distance is opened before you can get it.

However, N95 masks are difficult to breathe and are not suitable for wear during sports. The filter rate of strap surgical masks is 71.5%, and the filter rate decreases slightly when the head is low, and the filter rate increases when the head is turned or raised.
As for the most common ear-hanging surgical masks, the filter rate is 38.1%. Although the filter rate will drop by 10 to 15% when the head is looking up and down or when the left and right, the filter rate will not be worn out. Wu Yicheng reminds everyone that if you cannot maintain social distance during exercise, you must remember to wear masks as much as possible.
