Symptoms and treatment methods of dog ear hematoma
【causes】
Mechanical injury: such as fighting and playing between animals;
Parasitic itchy mites in the ear: shaking the head and shaking the ear due to severe itching, rubbing the affected ear, causing contusion of the auricle and rupture of the blood vessels in the auricle.
【Symptoms】 After the hematoma is formed, the auricle becomes thicker and sags several times, and the pressing is wavy and painful.
There are often recurred after puncture and bleeding, and it is prone to infection and suppuration.
【Treatment】
For small ear hematoma, it is generally not necessary to treat it and wait for it to absorb itself. Larger ear hematoma can be placed on the inner side of the auricle after puncture and bleeding, and then put a pressurized ear bandage on the inner side of the auricle, and retain it for 7 to 10 days. If conservative therapy is ineffective, a 1-1.5-cm-long longitudinal incision can be made on the side of the hematoma after disinfection, and blood accumulation and blood clots can be excreted, and then several scattered full-layer nodules parallel to the incision sutures to eliminate the hematoma cavity. Ear bandages can be installed after the operation to prevent bleeding and seepage appropriately.
